I visited Stockholm last year, but the memory is still fresh in my mind the city is not the oldest town in Sweden but after its establishment in the 1250s Stockholm became the national centre. Being adjacent to the Baltic Sea and a major lake the city is quite enchanting .The city has in almost everything the most important city in the nation. While more peripheral regions especially in the south and west feel they survive quite well without the political power is exerted by the capital. Especially between 1955 and 1975 many of the older buildings were exterminated during modernization process, inspired by London and other international cities damaged by bombing during Second World War.
